Sarah Charton grew up in Camarillo, California. She lived there the extent of her life before she moved to San Diego to attend San Diego State University. At San Diego State University (SDSU), Sarah pursued a Bachelor's of Science degree in Food and Nutrition to reach her dream of becoming a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). She finished the Didactics Program in Dietetics at SDSU and graduated in May 2017.

At SDSU, Sarah immediately became involved in extracurricular activities by volunteering in nutrition at Kaiser Permanente in San Diego and organizations, such as Student Nutrition Organization. Initially inspired by her family's history of high cholesterol and diabetes, Sarah wanted to help prevent other families from these health conditions through a healthy lifestyle by pursuing a profession as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. Later during graduate school, Sarah realized she wanted to focus on sports nutrition.

Sarah decided to embark on a new adventure across the country to pursue her dietetic internship and MBA at Dominican University. During her specialty rotation with Northwestern University Athletics as a Performance Nutrition Intern, Sarah had the opportunity to participate in the education and fueling of athletes from 19 collegiate sports teams. Sarah loved assisting over 100 football players during training camp, managing fueling station responsibilities, creating educational materials to boost sports performance, developing rapport with other departments and athletes, and feeling as though she made a difference in the live's of athletes.

In her free time, Sarah enjoys spending time outdoors, family time, being around friends, running, cooking, staying active, spontaneity, and traveling. My unique study abroad experience in Singapore has helped me step beyond my comfort zone, expand my food palate, and gain a better understanding of the world.
